Besides the obvious excitement I displayed in the title of this post, I would like to also display a state of reflection on these Olympic Games. It is a terrific time for our world in which we can come together at a single place and compete peacefully while learning about other nations. In the past, these games have been much more than games, representing the breaking of barriers, the excellence and progress of the human species, and the exploration of different cultures. Not all games have been peaceful or monumental, but have nonetheless shaped the world into what it is today. May we respect the athletes and their dedication to their craft, and may we respect the nations who have come together for learning and competition. Peace to all.
